Typography Assignment Part Dos

Well, here's what I turned in today for the second part of my contents page typography assignment. Last week's assignment was to use hierarchy and scale in the work. This week, we were supposed to experiment. So, I turned to handwriting for one of the designs, and I turned to Reese's Pieces for the other. Yep, that's right, I took my color scheme from my favorite candy! There are some definite cleanup issues to deal with, but I felt like these were turninable. I'm sure turninable is a real word, too, so don't mock me for it :)

Turninable, huh? You almost had me with that one, since you do tend to use big words (although you deny it). Reese's pieces - what a fab inspiration. I'm still waiting for your berry color scheme. You never used it and I still think it was awesome.

I can spend all day on your blog and inadvertently fail class. Your work is superb! I love to draw too, but I never seem to make time. Drawing vs. graphic design reminds me of turntables vs. DJ Traktor. The feeling of pencil on paper or oil on canvas is way better than hand clicking a mouse... you Rock!!

Your hand drawn typo work really reminded me of my first typo class back in 1992! I tried to be clever and a show-off when I did a paper-cut collage of words in various typefaces. Big mistake! It was painfully tedious and turned out ugly! LOL! I got a D for it and had to redo it. I didn't because my ego was hurt. I think I got a D for that class. No surprise.
