The Traveling Sketchbook Project

Before I moved to Maryland, one of my friends, a high school art teacher, told me about The Traveling Sketchbook project. He said the idea was to have a series of sketchbooks distributed throughout Utah with instructions to put a drawing in the books and pass them on to others. The sketchbook images would then be posted on a blog, and the books would keep traveling until they were filled.

Right before I left for grad school, my friend passed one of those sketchbooks on to me. It's taken me six months to get around to filling these two pages, but I did it! I'll probably be passing the book on to someone in Words and Images class, of course.

That sounds cool! Opt me out though, I am more of a doodler. Not a sketch person. I am sure you will find someone in the WI class with similar talent you have!

Congrats on finally getting it done! I must say, though, that you are an over achiever, because the other books and pages don't have nearly the quantity of stuff you put in!

what an awesome project. whoever ends up with it is going to have an amazing plethora of illustrators to network with and a book full of inspiration.

Congratulations! You do really nice work. Do sketch for others? Elephants are my favorite animal and I think I'd like to have magnets and some other things made. Oh yeah don't pass the book to me either.

This really looks great! You are very talented. My son likes to draw and is really good. I am going to show him your sketches.

Love your illustration skills. Envy actually. Anyway, I wouldn't be a good candidate because I am not talented in that department. Good luck in finding its next owner.
